Street Fighter IV coming to PlayStation 3/Xbox 360/PC this winter

G4TV’s X-Play caught up with Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono for an interview yesterday to announce that Capcom has a good idea on a release window for the United States launch of the home versions of Street Fighter IV, which will hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

When asked about when SFIV would be coming out in the United States, Ono replied:

“There is no official North American arcade release, so we kind of feel bad that you guys have to wait for it. That’s why we’re trying to get it to you as soon as possible. Before the Japanese have a really long period of time to get really good at it first and totally kick your butt online…We don’t want to start rumors that it’s this year, but definitely this winter. At some point you’ll be sitting in you winter coat looking at snow out the window…and right then we’ll kind of heat you up a little with some hot street fighter action so look forward to that.”

MvC2 gets ESRB rating for possible release to XBLA/PSN

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 ESRB Rating

A tip from a user on the NeoGAF Forums revealed that the Entertainment Software Rating Board has recently rated Marvel vs. Capcom 2 with two new Platforms added to it’s listing. Joining the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox are the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which would seem to indicate that the title will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.

Of course, just because the ESRB rated the game doesn’t mean it’s a sure thing but further proof indicates that a MvC2 port is currently in development. Using one of our Xbox 360 debug kits at my company, I was able to spot Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on Microsoft’s PartnerNet, the alternate Xbox Live network used by developers to beta test game content downloads.

Sharing information about content available on PartnerNet supposedly breaches the PartnerNet Non-disclosure agreement so I’m reluctant to post a screen shot. Either way, I’m convinced MvC2 will be resurrected very soon. Those of you with existing copies of MvC2 should definitely sell while the price of the game is still high!
